Prepare for Your Session

A little preparation can help you get more from your time at The Meridian Room, but don't worry, there is no complicated massage etiquette to learn.

Come as you are. We'll take it from there.

Before Your Massage

Hydrate

Drink water throughout the day of your appointment. Well-hydrated muscles are more receptive to bodywork.

Eat Light, Dress Easy

Have a light meal an hour or two beforehand so you can lie down comfortably, and wear loose, easy clothing.

Complete Your Intake

Fill out your intake form before you arrive. Note any injuries, health conditions, medications, recent surgeries, or pregnancy so your session can be planned safely.

Arrive Early

Plan to arrive 5 to 10 minutes before your appointment. It gives you time to settle in, use the restroom, and talk through what you want to focus on.

During Your Session

Your Comfort Comes First

Undress to your comfort level. You will stay securely draped the entire time, with only the area being worked on uncovered.

Speak Up About Pressure

Too much, not enough, or just right: tell your therapist at any point. Adjusting pressure is part of the work, never an interruption.

Talk or Unwind

Some clients like to chat; others drift off. Both are welcome, and quiet is never awkward here.

Say So Anytime

Room temperature, music, lighting, positioning: if something is not working for you, let your therapist know. It is an easy fix.

After Your Massage

Rise Slowly

Sit up slowly when your session ends. Feeling a little lightheaded or deeply relaxed is completely normal.

Keep Hydrating

Continue drinking water through the rest of the day to support recovery.

Expect Soreness

Mild soreness for a day or two is common, especially after focused work. Warmth, a bath, and gentle stretching help. If anything feels wrong, reach out.

Plan Your Next Visit

The benefits of massage build with consistency. Book your next session before you leave, or schedule online anytime.
